Enemies of God

I love Romans 5:10 which states, “For if, when we were God’s enemies we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” Recently I read this passage and the first half of the first line struck me. If, when we were enemies we were reconciled…absolutely amazing!
This is the nature of God, His Son, and the Spirit. This is the essence of His Kingdom. Our starting point is the reconciliation of enemies! Think about that. If this is how God treats those considered “enemies,” how much more those who know they are sons and daughters!? God’s Kingdom is so different compared to the systems of man. God’s Kingdom when seen, felt, and touched takes your breath away and leaves you speechless.
He doesn’t approve of sin, but He did deal with it on the cross! His character is so “other” that the way He deals with problems is by becoming it so He could destroy it, once for all! Not only did He create us, He became like us in His Son to deal with the sin that plagued us, once for all time.
I’ll end by repeating a thought from above. If the nature of God is to reconcile those who consider themselves enemies of God, how incredible are the days intended to be for those who know they are sons and daughters?!
