Hebrews 1 declares Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being. Powerful statement! One definition of this word glory found in Hebrews 1 is the word opinion. Let’s take that idea and run with it a bit. This passage is making a fascinating statement. It is saying that Jesus is the radiance of God’s opinion and the perfect image of His being!

Jump over to Colossians 1 which states the mystery of the ages has been made known and it is Christ in you, the hope of glory! This word glory is identical to what we see in Hebrews 1. Therefore Colossians 1 is saying Christ in you is the hope of God’s opinion! What does it all mean? It means included in Jesus work of redemption is the demonstration of a man knowing the how the Father sees him! Jesus modeled for us what it looks like to live in the right perspective of God’s opinion of mankind!

Now because of His saving work we are included in this same relationship that is initiated and sustained by the eternal work of Christ. Therefore, discipleship is not simply doing what Jesus says, but also living from the same foundation that Jesus lived from, which is the Father’s unconditionally loving opinion of you. When you realize who He knows you to be, you are able to live from that opinion and reveal Jesus and His Kingdom in every setting in which you have influence.

God has a great opinion of Jesus and you share in that identity of Christ; therefore, you get to enjoy God’s unending favor and enjoyment of you! You are no longer saddled with your past failures or the pressure to maintain your past successes. You get to enjoy the fullness of the godhead that dwells in Christ, to the delight of the Father. Father, Son, and Spirit absolutely adore you, so sit back and drink deep! This my friends is good news!
